NESA, UNILORIN

My fellow Economists, I want to use this medium to wish you all Happy New year and may this new year bring you bigger opportunities. It is a new year for our beloved association, so I want to say thank you all for your support and help for us through out last year, we are looking forward for the better ones this year.



 As promised by me during my manifesto to be the President, our determinations still remain unshaken so be ready to experience a new NESA in 2017 because we will *increase your aggregate positive experience in the department* just like how J. M. Keynes taught us to Increase aggregate spending in the economy.

 *SOCIAL ASPECT*

 People has been complaining that NESA do not use to organise social events and with that we are not social. But the question is, is it NESA or NESARIANS that are not social?. However, this administration is planning to have its 1st Get-together/Family gathering/Picnic at Waterview on January 15 with #500, why not try to be there and break the Jinx of unsociable stigma of our great Department. *SPORTS* In order to bypass the rush of Second Semester, The Association is organising it's sports festival in First Semester so January 9 to January 14 is our sports week so as you are coming back from holiday, come along with your sport kits both male and female, remember!!!, there will be medals and certificates to serve as evidence of Participation and victory on the event and all these will be given at the venue of the picnic on January 15, so after the field and track events, Let's laugh, mingle, wine and dine at the Waterview on that glorious Saturday.

 *DEBATES AND QUIZ*

 This event will be coming up on Wednesday, 11th of January at LH so each level are to get their debaters ready and those who will represent them in Quiz so let's rumble, which level is the best in this regard?

 *ACHIEVEMENTS SO FAR*

 We just started the admit ration officially barely One and half month ago but yet We have organised a Project Seminar alongside with the Department itself for 400level students, Career talk for 100level students, We created an online platform for dissemination of information which is the departmental blog and so on. So watch for more in this year as all we have done so far has been financed purely from our private savings for the betterment of the one and only NESA UNILORIN.

 *ACADEMICS*

 I want to use this medium to advise us all that do not be carried with other activities as test and exams are coming around so I wish you all the best in advance.

 *CAREER*

 For 100level students, do not forget my question, are you here to pursue a career or a certificate?. Do not have a low grade in your first year because your grade is your judgement of opportunities while on campus.

 For 200level students, How many scholarships have you applied for? Where are you planning to do your internships in the holidays?, What is going to happen to your GP after crossing the line in your 1st year?. Please pursue a real career on campus now.

 For 300level students, Probably you don't know, Your current level is the level with most opportunities on campus anywhere in the world. So where do you want to work upon graduation, have you sent an application to them that you want to intern with them?, If you want to be an entrepreneur have you started your plans?, Believe me after your current level you are likely to regret not to have done so many things than what you have done. A sentence is enough for the wise and the world is looking for the doers and not the sayers.

 To 400level students, It's almost too late for planning to plan a good career on campus, but never say never, I hope you have secured your Job upon graduation now, If no please do. Do not wait for Convocation before you plan what you want to be in Life. Where do you want to be in 5, 10, 20 years time?. I can not say much again. May God help you

 IN CONCLUSION

 While we are celebrating a new year let us think of what we want our life to be in this year and where we want our life to head to in the nearest future. He who fails to plan, Plans to fail. I love you all and I pray you all achieve your dreams in this year.
